LOVE READING

Here at Clee Hill Community Academy, we recognise the importance of reading in your child’s academic success. Reading unlocks the key to the whole curriculum.

The value that is given to reading at home is equally important. You as parents and carers play a vital role in supporting your child to become a fluent reader who can confidently apply their reading across all areas of life. Research suggests that children who read regularly at home perform better at school.

At our school, we have an expectation that all children read at home at least 5 times a week for a minimum of ten minutes.

This needs to be recorded in their reading records; reading records will be checked on a Monday to ensure that children have read 5 times.

Thank you for your support with helping your child to be successful in reading and therefore life.
