The school works in partnership with Innovate to provide wholesome, nutritious, healthy and enjoyable meals at a reasonable price. There is a wide variety on offer each week, which both our pupils and staff enjoy.
At Innovate, they believe that great food fuels great learning. The menus are specially designed for primary school children - offering tasty, nutritious meals that support healthy growth, curious minds, and happy lunchtimes.

For Every Child: We want every pupil to enjoy lunch with confidence. Our Allergen Aware Menu offers meals free from gluten, dairy, eggs, and soya – without compromising on taste or nutrition. Please contact your school office if you have any concerns about allergies/ ingredients or the contents of our dishes. In certain circumstances there may be a need to substitute meal options at short notice due to ingredient shortages. If this occurs we will notify as soon as possible of the alternative available.
Sustainable & Smart: innovate are committed to reducing food waste. By using every part of the ingredient – from cauliflower leaves to stalks – we create meals that are planet-friendly and still full of flavour.
FREE SCHOOL MEALS
All children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 get a free hot lunch every day. If your child is in Year 3 or above, you may be entitled if you receive certain benefits. Apply at Free school meals | Shropshire Council
For early year pupils (nursery) the current charge is £2.80 per day, for all other year groups the current charge is £3.00 per day.
Healthy packed lunches
KS1 children are entitled to one piece of fruit at the mid-morning break. This is provided free by the National School Fruit Scheme. KS2 children should bring in either fruit or vegetables for their snack at morning break or they may buy a slice of toast from the KS2 Tuck Shop.

Healthy drinks
Milk is available to all children at a cost, payable in advance. Children under five years old are entitled to free milk. Milk is administered by Cool Milk. www.coolmilk.com
Chilled and ambient water is available to all children from the water cooler.
Promoting a healthy diet
The school takes part in the annual ‘Eat them to defeat them’ programme.

The multi-award-winning Eat Them to Defeat Them campaign and associated schools’ programme has been a huge success, with the 2022 campaign reaching over 1 million children in 3,850 primary and special schools. 57% of participating parents say their children ate more vegetables, including over a third of those fussy eaters who rarely eat any vegetables at all.
