Mystery Readers

At Clee Hill Community Academy, we strive to foster a love of reading both at home and at school. The mystery reader scheme shows children that adults love reading too! The school invites any parents or friends of the school to come into the children’s class and read a story to the pupils. Some adults even come in fancy dress!! It might be a book they enjoyed reading when they were growing up or something they chose from the class or school library. If you are interested in becoming a mystery reader, please contact the office to arrange your mystery reader slot.

In order to have the ‘surprise’ element, the adults must keep it a secret when they are coming in (even from their own child). Shhhhhh.

Visiting authors

visit from a writer, poet or illustrator to a school or library can be an immensely rewarding experience for all involved. At Clee Hill Community Academy, we have been fortunate to work with a number of authors, who have ran assemblies, talked to pupils, shared their writing experiences and offered the opportunity for students to purchase their books.
