Clee Hill Community Academy

Parent Governor 

Carla is a Parent Governor with 3 children attending Clee Hill Community Academy or Nursery. Previously, Carla has been actively involved in the Nursery –then known as Grassroots- as a member of the committee for 5 ½ years (as joint chair, secretary and treasurer) before it became part of the Shropshire Gateway Educational Trust. 

Carla is currently studying Paramedic science at the University of Worcester and is due to graduate in August 2023. She also serves in the Army Reserves in the 8 Rifles Regiment and has done so for the last 29 years. Her Job role is within Logistics which entails, Feeding, Transport, Supplies, weapons, clothing, and clerical to enable the soldiers on the ground to carry out their duties. She also does bookkeeping; and accountancy work from home. 

Carla has had links with Clee Hill Community Academy for the past 21 years, since her eldest son -who is now 25 - attended. Carla joined the governing body in March 2017 and is passionate about safeguarding within the school. 

She feels passionate about Clee Hill Academy and is extremely keen to support the pupils further in her role as Governor. In Carla’s words, “It is always an enjoyable experience to see how happy and hard-working the children are within their school environment, I feel honoured to be able to be part of the school in this way”.
